It has already been reported that in the first round the Latvian tennis player 6-2, 6-1 beat the American Madison Brengl (WTA 77.), but in the second round 6-4, 6-2 the Czech tennis player Karolina Plīškov, who is the fourth player on the planet, racket and was sown in Paris with the second number.
For participating in the third round, Ostapenko earned 130 WTA ranking points and a cash bonus of 126,000 euros.
Ostapenko was the fifth French Open championship in her career, and she overcame the first round in singles only this year and in 2017, when she sensationally triumphed in the tournament and achieved one of the greatest successes in the history of Latvian sports.
This was Ostapenko’s third tournament since the season resumed. After losing in the first round of the Rome WTA “Premier 5” tournament last week, Latvia’s first racket reached the quarterfinals of the WTA “International” series tournament in Strasbourg, where the Japanese woman Nao Hibino lost on a stomach ache on Thursday.
