Film The world’s second largest cinema chain, Cineworld, will close its doors in the United States, Great Britain and Ireland this week. The closure is a result of the economic crisis caused by the corona measures.
The company, which operates more than 9,500 cinemas, came to the decision following the postponement of the premiere of the new James Bond film ‘No Time To Die’. It was initially supposed to be in April, but was postponed to November and the premiere has only been postponed to the spring of 2021. “It just doesn’t pay off to stay open,” says the Cineworld board. “Not enough new films are released to attract people to theaters.”

According to the BBC, some 120 British cinemas are expected to close, and as a result some 5,500 jobs will be at risk.
“We have to”, it sounds at Cineworld. “We’ve been hit hard in the last year, and we’re still not sure we’ll survive this crisis.”
