Three mandates in the Zlín Region. This is the prospect of electoral gains in the first elections, which were attended by the Tricolor movement, whose founder and leader is former ODS MP Václav Klaus Jr.
–
He explains the result when his party did not manage to get to any regional council, with the exception of the mentioned Zlín region. According to him, the Zlín Region is the only one where the Tricolor movement managed to keep pace with established parties financially during the campaign. On the contrary, the Zlín leader of the joint candidate of Tricolor, Private and Independent Jaromír Benátek appreciates the work of his election manager.
–
In the Ústí nad Labem, Central Bohemia and South Bohemia regions, Tricolor’s election results are around 3.5 percent.
–
Tricolor’s candidates for the Senate also failed. Václav Krása in Prague 9, who finished in third place with 5.89 percent. Zdeněk Říha won more than 7 percent of the vote in Děčín. Former director of commercial television Vladimír Železný also failed in the Znojmo constituency, where he triumphed in the Senate elections.
–
That is why Václav Klaus Jr. speaks in connection with the election results rather about the fact that his party gained mainly experience.
–
How do you perceive the result of the first elections for the Tricolor movement?
–
We are just going to make a phone call to the Zlín region. It turned out that in the only region where we were able to at least get financially closer to the established parties, we succeeded. We have over seven percent in the Uherské Hradiště region. And in those regions they drew it more with heart and enthusiasm. The lesson is that it simply cannot be done without money.
–
So will you learn from the campaign in the Zlín Region?
–
I don’t want to reveal it here, but it will probably be seen in transparent accounts. We had significantly higher funds for Zlín. Elsewhere, they did it for a few crowns with enthusiasm. Otherwise, I follow the national results and it comes to 3.3 percent when I count Prague there. That was a number that interested me in approaching the 5 percent nationwide. And it still jumps.
–
So do you think electoral success is mainly a question of money?
–
For the most part, yes. It is not an easy discipline. The familiarity with the Tricolor is small. It can be seen that in the municipalities where we have an association or an activist, the results are also ten percent and in the next village we do not even have a vote, because they do not know about us.
–
You were relatively visible in Prague and its surroundings, at least on billboards. How do you evaluate Mr. Krása’s Prague results?
–
Mr. Beauty in the Senate was third behind the big favorites. It’s always about the strength of the candidate, I think Mr. Říha has the most in the Děčín region.
–
Are you considering any changes after these election results?
–
We founded the movement out of conviction, we are not even big fans of the regions and the Senate, so our basic opinions that wealth arises from work, that we should defend Czech interests and that the traditional world should be defended, if you will, will certainly not change that. We will definitely consult the board tomorrow. Now I will wait for the results, go to thank the people of Prague and Central Bohemia and then I’ll have four beers and tomorrow the board will meet and we will advise what to do.
