Regensburg – SSV Jahn Regensburg has won its home game against Karlsruher SC and remains unbeaten in the new season of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Upper Palatinate prevailed 1-0 (1-0) on Saturday and inflicted their third defeat on KSC in the third league game of the season. In a hard-fought game, Andreas Albers scored the decisive goal in the 44th minute.

The guests missed the equalizer when Philipp Hofmann missed goalkeeper Alexander Meyer with a penalty kick (52nd minute). In addition, the KSC could not use the final phase in excess after a dismissal against Jahn captain Benedikt Gimber (80th).

In front of 3042 spectators, the home side of coach Mersad Selimbegovic were the more active team, but could only create a few good chances. Shortly before the break, Albers headed a cross from the strong Albion Vrenezi to lead into the goal.

Due to a foul by Sebastian Stolze on Christoph Kobald, a penalty kick was decided after video evidence. But Meyer parried the weak attempt by striker Hofmann. A good ten minutes before the end, the already cautioned Gimber shot a ball away and had to leave the field. The KSC’s final offensive was unsuccessful.
