Storm Alex is the most severe storm since 1994

Near the French-Italian border, 21 people were found alive on Saturday who were missing in Italy due to the heavy rain from storm Alex. Rescue workers returned them to Italy by helicopter. That reports the Italian Civil Protection.

Storm Alex also struck heavily in Italy after France. Heavy rains caused flooding and landslides in the north of the country. Two people have already died.

22 people were missing, including 18 people of Italian nationality and a German family of two grandparents and their two grandchildren.

The emergency services found 21 missing near the Tendapas, on the border of Italy and France in the Alps. Among them are the grandparents and their grandchildren. According to the head of the Piemonte region, this is the worst storm since 1994, when 70 people were killed in the Po and Tarano area.
