The Ministry of Health and Population revealed a set of advice that must be followed after the blood donation process, most notably not to be exposed to sunlight, leaving the patch on the needle for 12 hours, the need to drink plenty of fluids, and keep away from smoking for an hour.
The National Center for Blood Services at the Ministry of Health confirmed that donating blood is important and helps stimulate the bone marrow to produce new, active blood cells that carry more oxygen to the various organs of the body.
The center revealed that donating blood helps increase focus, work activity and not inactivity, and that in some cases donation reduces the level of excess iron associated with an increased risk of heart disease.
He appealed to the National Center for Blood Services at the Ministry of Health to donate blood, stressing that all tools that are used are sterile and do not transmit any diseases at all and are completely safe.
