Wolfsburg – Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg has once again strengthened its attack. Maximilian Philipp is moving from Dynamo Moscow to the Wolves, the Lower Saxony announced.

The 26-year-old, who can be used flexibly in the offensive, is loaned out for one year by the Russian first division club. After Bartosz Bialek, Maxence Lacroix and Ridle Baku, the U21 European champion from 2017 is VfL’s fourth new signing this season.

“With Maximilian we got the top-class reinforcement that we were looking for,” said Wolfsburg sports director Marcel Schäfer. “With his presence, his commitment on the pitch and his absolute will to win, he is the type of player who can make the difference,” added Schäfer about Philipp, who is an old acquaintance in the Bundesliga. The native of Berlin played a total of 88 games in the German upper house for SC Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund, scoring 20 goals. Philipp played for Dynamo Moscow in 29 competitive games and scored nine goals.
