Between the twin cities of Würzburg and Dundee he organized the first school sport exchange in swimming (July 1976). Every year in July for 30 years, Frick organized the school swimming festivals in the Dallenbergbad for Würzburg’s schools. Chairman of TSV Lengfeld Frick founded the support association of the municipal kindergarten in 1977 and, after the incorporation in 1978, was a co-founder of the Lengfeld citizens’ association. From 1981 to 2010 he was chairman of TSV Lengfeld, with 2,600 members at times the largest multi-discipline club in Würzburg. For the “Würzburger List”, Frick sat for two terms from 1990 to 2002 in the city council of Würzburg. For 30 years (1978 to 2007) Frick was a member of the sports advisory board, which represents the interests of the sports clubs vis-à-vis the town hall, in the Association of Würzburg Sports Clubs (VWS) with its 110 member clubs, Frick was Vice President from 1986 and President from 1989 to 2010 .
