National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) approved remdesivir for use in patients COVID-19 in Indonesia. Procedure remdesivir believed to stop viral replication.

PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) is said to be starting to market the therapeutic drug for COVID-19 patients remdesivir in Indonesia with the Covifor selling brand which is distributed throughout the province. The company acts as a distributor of products manufactured by the Indian company Hetero.

The drug, which is pegged at Rp. 3 million per vial, is only sold in hospitals so that the use of this product has been carried out properly.

Pulmonary specialist from Friendship Hospital, Dr. Erlina Burhan MSc, SpP, explained that there are side effects of remdesivir. The side effects are said to affect several organs in the body So there are several criteria established for COVID-19 patients who receive remdesivir, including those over the age of 18 and given to patients with severe symptoms.

In addition to remdesivir, last June, the COVID-19 Task Force announced a combination of drugs used to fight Corona. Here’s the list:

1. Lopinavir-ritonavir-azitromisin
2. Lopinavir-ritonavir-doksisiklin
3. Lopinavir-ritonavir-klaritromisin
4. Hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin
5. Hydroxychloroquine-doxycycline

The five drug combinations were obtained after scientists examined 14 drug combination regimens. Test results show the drug can reduce the number of Corona viral loads from hundreds of thousands until it is undetectable within 24 hours.
