jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Moeldoko reminded Gatot Nurmantyo and other retired generals to submit to Saptamarga and the Soldier’s Oath.
According to Moeldoko, Saptamarga and the Soldier’s Oath are still relevant for retired TNI soldiers.
“When we were soldiers, we were bound by the Saptamarga and the Soldier’s Oath. It was so strong, but once a person retires, the authority over those choices is attached to each person,” said Moeldoko during an interview, Thursday (1/10). ).
Moeldoko realized that Saptamarga and the Soldier’s Oath might be lost when a general has retired and entered politics.
According to him, retiring TNI will be influenced by other interests.
“Someone can be different if they talk about politics, talk about power, talk about achievement because there is ambition,” he explained.
Even so, said Moeldoko, as a fellow retired officer, he always reminded his colleagues. According to him, as a former soldier he must always remember Saptamarga and the Soldier’s Oath.
However, Moeldoko also admitted that no party has the authority to regulate retired officers.
“Once again, if it is related to interests, there is no authority that can prohibit them. Each one already has authority over him,” he said. (tan / jpnn)
