Atletico Madrid buys Arsenal midfielder. A famous journalist is confident of the transfer

Lucas Torreira retires from Arsenal. The new Uruguayan club will be Atletico Madrid.

The negotiations between the clubs have been reported for several days. According to Nicolo Schira, the talks finally paid off. However, the Italian journalist did not specify under what conditions the 24-year-old will change the employer.

Torreira joined Arsenal in the summer of 2018. The English club then bought it from Sampdoria Genoa for 28.6 million euros. Since then, he played for “Kanonierów” 89 times. This season, however, has not appeared on the pitch.

The Uruguayan international will only be the third player Atletico will sign in this transfer window. Earlier, the club from Madrid contracted Luis Suarez and Croatian goalkeeper Ivo Grbić.
