Elzach: high property damage and accident escape – two accidents in Elzach

Yesterday two elderly people caused two road accidents separately from each other. In the first traffic accident, which was caused at 3:30 in the morning, a man born in 1940 ignored the right of way of a truck at a junction with the main road in Elzach. However, there was significant property damage to a car. The damage to the truck was limited. The cause of the driver taking the right of way of the truck that was lit in the dark is currently the subject of police investigations.

Scene of the accident, observed a witness that an elderly woman rammed into another car while maneuvering her small car and drove on. Thanks to the help of the witness, the investigation of the person who caused the accident was pure routine work for the police. It is currently not known whether the woman, born in 1938, noticed that she had brushed against the parked car. Property damage occurred to both cars, which could certainly quickly amount to several thousand euros. A report of escaping the traffic accident must be submitted against the person who caused the accident. By default, the police also submit a report to the driver’s license authority in such cases, which checks whether age-related symptoms of failure could impair the ability to drive motor vehicles in the future. The investigation continues.
