Social media: Cuxhaven shows itself | Commune21

[1.10.2020] The city of Cuxhaven no longer only presents itself on the Internet via a website, but also creates a connection to the town hall via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

The city of Cuxhaven is now present on social media. The Lower Saxony municipality wants to be even closer to its citizens via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. In addition to the official Cuxhaven website, the social networks are primarily intended to serve as information and communication levels and provide insights into the work of the administration, create a connection to the town hall and record citizens’ opinions on city life. “The corona pandemic in particular has pushed the digitalization of the administration forward rapidly and highlighted possibilities,” says Mayor Uwe Santjer. “Even an administration must not shut itself off from new media. Here it is important to keep up with the times so that we can continue to reach every generation. ”Together with the public relations department of the city, Santjer developed and implemented the concept. “Now we would like to take our fellow human beings to the town hall – if not always in person during the corona pandemic, then at least digitally,” says the Cuxhaven mayor.
