Pianist Daumants Liepiņš calls the opening concert program challenging: “This is the second time I will collaborate with the LNSO. The concert “Čurļonis un jazz” of the “Baltic Symphony Festival”, which will take place at the Music House “Daile” and will be dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the Lithuanian composer and painter Mikalojus Konstantīns Čurļonis, is announced as unique and interesting.

Participant of this program and one of the music organizers, double bassist Jānis Rubiks outlines the atypical structure of the concert: “Interesting cooperation between representatives of academic and jazz music. We plan to organize concerts of children and youth as part of a smaller orchestra in the Ziedonis Hall of the National Library of Latvia, while we will organize full orchestra programs in cooperation with the wonderful concert halls in Rēzekne, Cēsis, Ventspils and Liepāja. We plan to play the concerts of the chamber music cycle at the Music House “Daile”.
