From this Thursday, October 1, 2020, students and those under 26 will be able to access, free of charge all year round, the services of the Nancy libraries and the museums of the City of Nancy: the Musée des Beaux-arts de Nancy, the museum of the Ecole de Nancy and the Villa Majorelle. Despite the incentives, attendance by adolescents, students and young adults remains limited. The tariff barrier and the steps to take advantage of this aid often remain real obstacles. However, one of the stated priorities of the City of Nancy’s cultural policy is to make its cultural offer accessible to as many people as possible.

For 60,000 Grands Nancéiens
“The 12-25 year olds now represent only 4% of the total attendance at our museums and 13% of our subscribers in the libraries of Nancy”, underlines Bertrand Masson, deputy delegate for culture. This free offer will notably benefit more than 60,000 Grands Nancéiens. It supports the action of the development of artistic and cultural education. Its main objective is to allow 100% of children attending schools in Nancy to access, by cycle, an artistic and cultural education project.
