In Austria, the judiciary is prosecuting four people in connection with the corona virus outbreak in the ski resort of Ischgl. This is reported by the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office, which did not disclose the identity of the accused.
More than 10,000 pages of evidence have been studied, making the investigation more concrete, explains Innsbruck prosecutor Hansjörg Mayr.
In February and March, thousands of holidaymakers are said to have contracted the corona virus in ski stations in the federal state of Tyrol, especially in the ski resort of Ischgl. The local authorities of Ischgl are accused of delaying a closure for commercial reasons. They decline all responsibility.
There are also other issues surrounding the infections. Last week, the first four cases on behalf of winter sports enthusiasts who contracted corona during their holiday in Ischgl or on the return journey.
