Prague has launched the Prague Portal, and is gradually offering 88 digital services

Portal of Prague it is to be an urban equivalent of the state Citizen’s portal. Through it, the inhabitants of Prague should be able to digitally solve a number of life situations. The city today launched a pilot project.

So far, the portal offers only a few services in the test run. For example, a citizen can view information about their Lítačka card or book an appointment for its issue. He can also look at information on how he pays the waste collection fee, book a date for issuing a driver’s license, apply for the mayor’s patronage over his event or announce a public meeting.

By the end of the year, about 30 more agendas should be added, promises the municipality and the city company Operátor ICT, which developed the portal for Prague. Services that are already under negotiation include, for example, a parking agenda in paid parking zones, the signing of a contract with Pražská plynárenská or the possibility of reducing the fine from the public transport auditor to CZK 50, which so far requires a personal visit to the Transport Company branch.

In the course of May 2021, individual city districts should also start joining the Prague Portal.

For the time being, people can log in to the Pražan Portal only via a data box, an electronic ID card or via the NIA. The city promises increased interest in the service since the introduction of login through a bank identity, which should start at the turn of the year.

Technologically, the service runs on the platform of the Citizen’s Portal, which the state provided to the city free of charge and which the ICT Operator adapted to Prague conditions. The company plans to further develop the portal – for example, redesigning the front end to use interactive form technologies.
