Prague From Monday, indoor activities should be limited to a maximum of ten people and outdoor to 20 people throughout the Czech Republic due to coronavirus. The Minister of Health Roman Prymula (for YES) said this in the program Events, comments of Czech Television. According to him, there will be a number of exceptions. Theaters, for example, will be able to play. The sports leagues will not stop either, but the matches will be completely without spectators from next week.
Prymula stressed that large music concerts, for example, will be canceled. “On the other hand, ordinary theatrical performances, plays, ballet and the like will be practically unlimited,” he said. According to him, the infection does not spread so much in the interior spaces where people sit. “But there will be no breaks for any food,” Prymula said.

Professional sports will be limited to about 130 people, so that they can continue, for example, the highest football or hockey league, but in front of the empty stands. The problem will be with amateur sports. “All competitions that are registered and organized by the association will be played in the normal composition, unfortunately the others will have a limit of 20 people outside,” the minister added.
Prymula had previously said that a state of emergency should apply throughout the country from Monday. The government will decide on it on Wednesday, before that the Chamber of Deputies will discuss the current situation around the epidemic. From next week, high schools in regions with a higher risk of infection are also likely to close for 14 days.

According to Prymula, the reason why he considers a state of emergency necessary is a “dismal epidemiological situation”. Without the necessary measures, the capacity of hospitals could be jeopardized at the end of October. Another problem is that almost 1,700 paramedics are currently infected, of which about 400 doctors and 700 nurses. “It is important that huge numbers of health professionals are quarantined or isolated, and this threatens some health care facilities,” the minister added.
Since March 1, when the first cases of coronavirus appeared in the Czech Republic, the infection has been confirmed in almost 66,800 people. There are currently 33,466 patients with the disease. For most people, the infection is milder, however, the number of hospitalizations and deaths in the country has recently increased. Deaths with covid-19 are 635, of which 210 in September. The September number thus exceeded 206 deaths in April. Since the beginning of September, the number of people with covid in hospitals has increased roughly fivefold to the current 825. The number of hospitalized in serious condition has also risen more than fivefold, to 187.
