“Today the number of infected in Lombardy by the number of inhabitants leads us to be there third to last region by index of spread of the virus“ SARS-CoV-2. “So we’re doing one extraordinary work to run after the virus, to try to isolate those who are infected and asymptomatic, to reduce as much as possible the risk of a tension in the hospitals. “This is the picture drawn by the Councilor for Welfare of the Lombardy Region Giulio Gallera, on the sidelines of the conference ‘Covid-19, the ignorant virus’, organized by The Bridge Foundation in collaboration with the Region.
Remuzzi: virus circulation was higher, now Lombardy is more protected
Giuseppe Remuzzi, director of the Mario Negri Irccs Pharmacological Research Institute, spoke of the risk of one second wave of Coronavirus “It is difficult for it to be like what there was. And even if it were, I would not call it the second wave, and in any case it will not resemble the previous one. All over the world the things of February, March and April have passed”. “More than a second wave I would speak of the possibility that here and there there is a resurgence of the disease that we must be able to stop – he added -. I would rather speak of a virus that moves in a pejorative or better sense depending on local circumstances that can also be dramatic “, for example if he were to enter the RSA. With regard specifically to Lombardy, the Italian region hardest hit since the beginning of the pandemic, Remuzzi stressed that the circulation of the virus was higher then “is now more protected“.
Signorelli: tracked from 20 to 50% of cases
In Lombardy it is likely to be traced today “20 to 50% of cases, therefore out of about 200 positives there could be as many or even more that do not emerge, “he explained Carlo Signorelli, professor of Hygiene and Public Health at the San Raffaele University. The councilor for Welfare, Giulio Gallera, replied on the subject, explaining that the “The number of tampons in Lombardy is high, on average 20 thousand and 80% of the positives are asymptomatic. The diagnostic tools we have at our disposal do not allow us to do more. The Istituto Superiore di Sanità is not clearing through customs, or does so very minimally, the quick texts that do not require a laboratory. When we have faster tools, we will be able to do much more tracking. ”
