The number of newly discovered cases of covid-19 in the Czech Republic was below two thousand for the third day in a row – ČT24 – Czech Television

Since March 1, when the first cases of coronavirus appeared in the Czech Republic, 65,883 infected patients have been recorded. There are currently 33,466 patients.

For most people, the infection is milder, however, the number of hospitalized and deceased people has recently increased in the country. According to the Ministry, the number of people who ended up with coronavirus in the hospital has increased roughly fivefold to 820 since the beginning of September, according to the Ministry’s data.

The number of deaths of people infected with coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic in the Czech Republic has reached 618. Since the beginning of September, the number of deaths has increased by about half. Four deaths arrived on Monday. However, their number was significantly higher over the weekend, when 13 people died of the disease on Sunday and on Saturday the 15th last Wednesday, the ministry recorded as many as 20 deaths.

The number of Covid-19 cases originally increased the most in Prague and its surroundings. According to current data, however, the largest growth in the last seven days was in the Pelhřimov region, 223 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It is followed by Uherské Hradiště with 219 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. There were 206 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Prague-West district in the past week, 199 in Prague and over 193 in the Prague-East district.
