Diogo Jota’s Sweet Debut at Anfield

Liverpool

Diogo Jota recorded a joint debut goal Liverpool at Anfield. His goal helped Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1.

Liverpool entertain Arsenal at Anfield in the third week of the Premier League, Monday (29/9/2020) early morning WIB. This match also marks Jota’s debut at Anfiled and the English League with the Reds.

Jota was signed by Liverpool this summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Portuguese player had previously been named by Juergen Klopp during Liverpool’s 7-2 win at Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

Jota appeared in the match against Arsenal since the 80th minute after replacing Sadio Mane. When this 23-year-old player entered the field, Liverpool were in a 2-1 lead.

Two goals for the Reds were created by Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson. Meanwhile, the Gunners pulled one back through Alexandre Lacazette.

Jota didn’t waste this opportunity by being able to score a goal with a measured kick from outside the penalty box in the 88th minute. Arsenal goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, did not even react to see his goal being broken into by the shot of the man born in Massarelos.

Jota’s debut goal for Liverpool sealed Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal. Jota is so happy with this incision.

However, he was a little disappointed that he could not celebrate his historic goal with the Liverpool fans at Anfield. This is because the match is still being held without spectators affected by COVID-19.

“This is an extraordinary feeling. I only hope this can happen with a full stadium. However, I still feel happy to be able to close the team’s victory and achieve good results,” said Jota. BBC.

“In football sometimes you score goals, sometimes you miss a shot. You have to believe you will score goals and fortunately I did,” he said.
