HAREN – According to the fire brigade, gas is released from several sewage wells along the Western Drift in Haren in Groningen. A nearby primary school has been evacuated as a precaution. That has also happened with a house close to the school. The 430 children had a break in the nearby church. According to the fire brigade, the children are doing well and have now been picked up by their parents and carers. They will not return to school on Monday.
