Koei Tecmo revealed Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires during a Tokyo Game Show presentation.
The game will be released in both Japan and the West in early 2021 and will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. The developer has announced that Dynasty Warriors 9 will contain Castle Siege combat, ‘political interactions’ and the option to create your own fighter.
In addition, Koei Tecmo reveals that Dynasty Warriors will also be released as a mobile game in Japan. The title, simply Dynasty Warriors, supports vertical controls and ‘many well-known characters’ from the franchise, among other things. A western release has not yet been announced.
Dynasty Warriors started in 1997 as a fighting game on the PlayStation, then made the switch to hack ‘n slash.
