OUTSIDE – The use of two Teslas by the management of Caparis has gone down the wrong way with the councilors of Achtkarspel. “We think it is inappropriate that two Teslas are leased for the management,” the city council said in a letter to the sheltered workshop. The letter is addressed to director Alex Bonnema.

The city council clearly expresses its dissatisfaction in the letter, despite the fact that Achtkarspel no longer owns Caparis since January 1, 2020. The council has announced that it thinks it has made the right choice by saying goodbye to Caparis via the Fairdeal.

The dissatisfaction is mainly due to budget changes of the GR SW Fryslân. Caparis did not have the accounts for each other and the participants of the GR SW Fryslân were able to draw their wallet. The Board is of the opinion that Caparis has established itself in recent years as an ‘entrepreneur’ with a considerable drive for expansion aimed at making a profit.

“This is not in keeping with the role of a Social Work Company. A Social Work Company primarily has a social task. Generating profit is a nice side effect, but not an end in itself. Caparis is a Social Work Company and provides work for vulnerable people who have a receive low income. “

The letter then deals with the Teslas. “We think it is inappropriate that two Teslas are leased for the management. This also does not fit the role of a Social Work Company. Apart from that, we wonder whether these costs are covered by the lease scheme.”
