The hiker was found by a Sea King rescue helicopter in the search area at Jervskogen Ski Center in Hommelvik, Trøndelag police district reported shortly before 9 p.m.
The police state that the man is somewhat chilled and has injuries to one arm.
Trøndelag police district implemented the search in consultation with the Main Rescue Center Southern Norway.
The man has been missing since 2 pm on Saturday in the area in Hommelvik east before Trondheim.
– It is an older guy who has disappeared from his travel party. Message came to us at 15.45, says operations manager Viola Elvrum in Trøndelag police district to Adresseavisen.
On Saturday night, about 20 volunteers from the Red Cross and Norwegian People’s Aid were included in the search. Norwegian Rescue Dogs participated with four dogs in addition to a police dog.
Two drones with heat-seeking cameras were also used. The Sea King rescue helicopter was put into the search at 7.40 pm.
