Brighton & Hove Albion had to swallow a dramatic defeat from Manchester United in advanced Premier League. Goddess Fortuna is not on the side of Brighton.
Exciting duel presented in the match Brighton vs MU which was held at Amex Stadium in the third week Premier League, Saturday (26/9/2020) evening WIB. The two teams exchanged goals until the final minutes of the match.
Brighton had the lead through Neal Maupay before Lewis Dunk then made an own goal that benefited MU. Behind behind after Marcus Rashford scored, Solomon March then scored a goal in the 90 + 5 minute to change the score to 2-2.
The Wasiit then blew the ending whistle shortly after Harry Maguire’s header in the 90th + 7th minute did not produce a goal for MU. The drama then happened because MU players claimed Maguire’s header hit Maupay’s hand.
The referee then checked the VAR and gave a penalty for MU. Bruno Fernandes successfully converted the penalty into a goal and led the Red Devils to win 3-2.
“Unbelievable, it feels indescribable, today we were better. We deserved at least one point, it’s a shame,” Brighton winger Leandro Trossard was quoted as saying BBC Sport.
“There were five minutes added and we played at least seven minutes. Sometimes it just isn’t your day.”
Losing to MU, Brighton seemed not to be lucky. There were at least five Brighton shots that hit the post in the match against United.
Leandro Trossad himself had to face the fact that his shot was deflected by the crossbar three times. choose noted, Trossad equaled Cristiano Ronaldo who also experienced a similar thing in 2006 against Newcastle United.
“We had a lot of chances and losing like that is the worst feeling you can get in a match. Today we played very well,” said Trossad.
“An unfortunate day, the ball won’t come in. We have to take the positive side of this game. Going conceding penalties is always difficult, it’s really tough,” he said.
