The famous Filipino boxer Menu Pakjao has expressed a desire to ring the duel with the mixed martial arts (MMA) show UFC star Conor McGregor.
Pakiao’s team announced the boxer’s intention on Saturday and revealed that talks are taking place between the two sides.
“In honor of all the victims of Covid-19, Senator Pakjao will fight with UFC spokesman McGregor next year,” the statement said.
It is estimated that the fight could take place in the Middle East, but Pakjao will donate part of the earned royalties to the victims of Covid-19 in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, boxer promoter Sean Gibbon in Los Angeles, in a conversation with the news agency AFP, revealed that there was talk of a fight, but both sides are far from the desired agreement.
The Irish McGregor also wrote in his Twitter account on Friday that his next opponent would be Pakiao.

“It will be a real honor for me to have fought the two best boxers of the modern era,” McGregor said in a recording.
It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era, afraid of a fight.

The 41-year-old Pakjao had his last fight last July, when he defeated Keith Tourman in a duel for the World Boxing Association (WBA) champion belt.
Meanwhile, McGregor had previous experience in the boxing ring when he met Floid Meivezer in 2017, but he definitely lost.
The Irishman has repeatedly said that he has finished his career in the UFC this year, but connoisseurs of this sport are wondering what it is like to be another cunning move of McGregor before he steps on the octagon again.
In the Philippines, about 200,000 people have been infected with Covid-19, but 5,000 have already lost their lives.
The Filipino is the first and only boxer in the world to be able to become a world champion in eight different versions.
