Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Opposition Platform – For Life faction, Yuri Zagorodny, criticized the Kiev authorities for cooperation with the IMF.
As stated on the party’s website, Kiev recently committed itself to transferring the National Bank, the judicial system and anti-corruption structures under the control of the West, and continued to “choke the people” with high tariffs and “destroy the remnants” of the healthcare sector.
According to the deputy, a third of Ukraine’s budget goes to paying off debts. However, Kiev will not negotiate debt restructuring or postponement of payments, since the country has monstrous economic problems. Zagorodny called this situation a humiliation.
Earlier, the EU representative for foreign affairs Josep Borrell said that the EU is ready to provide Ukraine with 1.2 billion euros of macro-financial assistance, but for this Kiev needs to fulfill the requirements of the IMF.
