Amr El-Janani, head of the five-year committee in charge of managing the Egyptian Football Association, temporarily spoke about the fact that he complimented Zamalek management during his presence in the current period.
Al-Ganaini responded in statements on the “On Time Sports 1” screen early Saturday morning: “I did not compliment Zamalek, I swear to God, it never happened.”
Regarding the crisis of the disappearance of the cups, the current president of the Football Association replied: “This is the heritage of Egypt and Egyptian football 100 years ago, and the titles and championships we have achieved are well known.”
He continued, “The Ministry of Youth and Sports has intervened, and investigations are underway to show the truth, and this is our goal.”
The five-year committee had announced earlier that investigations would be opened within the Football Association, to find out the fate of the lost cups that were not found while the committee was reviewing the stores for the use of cups and medals in the Football Association Museum.
Al-Ganaini also spoke about handing over the league shield, saying: “Let’s see the English Premier League, Liverpool achieved the league weeks before the end of the competition and the shield was delivered after the end of the season.”
He ended: “Al-Ahly will receive the league shield on the field, and we will deliver on the stadium at the end of the league.”
Al-Ahly won the Egyptian We League title for the fifth consecutive season and the 42nd in its history, six rounds before the end of the local competition.
