Sweet Memories of The Blues at The Baggies Headquarters

West Bromwich

Chelsea have sweet memories at headquarters West Bromwich Albion when sealing champions Premier League 2016/2017. The two of them will meet at the same place this week.

Chelsea must visit the home of West Bromwich Albion (WBA), The Hawthorns, in Week 3 of the Premier League, Saturday (26/9/2020) at 23.30 WIB. This match is broadcast live by Grindstone TV through this link.

The Blues will be eyeing three points after in the previous Premier League match they had to beat Liverpool 0-2. Chelsea benefited from the WBA conditions which were haunted by a series of bad results at the start of this season.

They were beaten in the first two Premier League matches this season by conceding eight goals. WBA lost to Leicester City 0-3 and Everton 2-5. The Baggies have also recently been eliminated from the Carabao Cup after losing on penalties to Brentford.

Chelsea the more confident in welcoming this match because they have a neat record when they meet the WBA. They have never lost in the last six matches when they met The Baggies. The details are that Chelsea have won five times, while one other match ends in a draw.

The London Blue team also have fond memories of The Hawthorns. Chelsea managed to seal the 2016/2017 Premier League title at the WBA headquarters.

Chelsea at that time won 1-0 at The Hawthorns thanks to a single goal from Michy Bathsuayi in the 82nd minute on week 37. The addition of these three points makes it impossible for Chelsea to be overtaken by their closest rival Tottenham Hotspur.

They managed to seal their fifth Premier League title and their last to date. Uniquely, there is one player who is now defending the WBA who used to play a role in the Chelsea title.

This figure is Branislav Ivanovic. Ivanovic, who defended Chelsea from the 2008-2017 range, was just brought in by the WBA this summer. Ivanovic reinforces sweet memories Chelsea when they visit The Howthorns this weekend.
