Aue – FC Erzgebirge Aue remains the table leader of the 2nd Bundesliga for the time being, despite a missed win.

The Saxons came in the first home game of the season against SpVgg Greuther Fürth only to a 1: 1 (1: 1). In front of 999 spectators, Sebastian Ernst (6th) gave the guests an early lead, U21 national player Florian Krüger (23rd) equalized. Aue remained unbeaten in the sixth duel with Fürth in a row.

A too short back pass into the penalty area by Dimitrij Nazarov made for a false start. Havard Nielsen picked up the ball, placed it across to Ernst, who easily slid into the empty goal.

In the 22nd minute, the Fürth defensive routineer Mergim Mavraj had to be replaced after he was hit hard on the head by his goalkeeper Sascha Burchert. That had an immediate effect when Krüger used a mess in the Fürth penalty area to equalize after a corner. Ernst (47.) and Jamie Leweling (86.) had the greatest chances to take the lead, but shot over it. Aue limited himself to long balls in the top and rarely radiated danger.
