On Saturday, August 15th, 2020, around 10:45 p.m., a van had an accident in the Ostring, in the Oppau district of Ludwigshafen. Witnesses became aware of the accident when the vehicle drove over the sidewalk with a loud bang and crashed into the embankment. The 48-year-old driver from Heidelberg was uninjured. In the course of the accident recording it was found that the driver was clearly intoxicated. A corresponding test showed a value of almost 2 per thousand. As a result, an investigation was initiated against the person who caused the accident because of the danger to road traffic, a blood sample was taken and his driver’s license was confiscated. The vehicle, loaded with medicines for emergency pharmacies, was no longer ready to drive and had to be towed away.
