Freddy Widjaja, a subsidiary of the company founder Sinarmas Group, Eja Tjipta Widjaja is still struggling to get his legacy. He revealed the story behind the distribution of the Rp. 737 trillion inheritance that was sued by him.
Freddy said the division of inheritance began after the funeral of the late Eka on January 26, 2019. At that time, he was abroad and received a call about the division of inheritance through will act No. 60 of 2008.
Reporting from CNBC Indonesia, Friday (25/9/2020), it turned out that Eka Tjipta had made the will since April 2008. In the will, it was stated that Freddy Widjaja received Rp. 1 billion.
However, some of Eka Tjipta Widjaja’s other children received Rp. 2 billion and Rp. 1 billion. Meanwhile, the total value of the inheritance distributed was Rp. 76 billion for the 34 recipients mentioned in the will.
Meanwhile, if there is any remaining money, it will be handed over to Teguh Ganda Widjaja, Indra Widjaja, Muktar Widjaja, Djafar Widjaja and Franky Oesman Widjaja.
Finally, Freddy asked for a legal opinion regarding the distribution of the inheritance. The reason is that there are no details of Eka Tjipta Widjaja’s inheritance as well as a will of the remaining money / inheritance which was only handed over to a few other children, starting from Teguh Ganda Widjaja, Indra Widjaja, Muktar Widjaja, Djafar Widjaja, and Franky Oesman Widjaja.
Freddy submitted this legal opinion to Indra Widjaja, but was ignored. “I conveyed the legal opinion to Pak Indra Widjaja, but it was considered a windfall,” he told CNBC Indonesia.
Meanwhile, on a note detikcomFreddy himself has already registered a lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court regarding the inheritance distribution case. The lawsuit was filed as of Monday night 10 August 2020 with case number 637 / Pdt.G / 2020 / PN JKT.SEL.
In full, Freddy sued five of his half brothers ranging from Teguh Ganda Widjaja, Indra Widjaja, Muhtar Widjaja, Djafar Widjaja and Franky Oesman Widjaja. His father’s former secretary, Elly Romsiah is also on the list of defendants.
In detail, Indra Widjaja and Elly Romsiah are the people appointed as executors of the will made on April 25, 2008.
In his lawsuit, Freddy asked that all of Eka Tjipta’s assets be recalculated, including the distribution of his inheritance. He asked for wills made in 2008 to be canceled, because the distribution was unfair.
Still in the lawsuit that Freddy registered with the South Jakarta District Court, he also included the amount of Eka Tjipta’s assets that he knew. He included the total assets of several Sinar Mas companies, a total of 16 companies with assets of Rp 737 trillion.
