– The circumstances surrounding the death were unclear, but after a preliminary forensic examination, the police have now opened a murder investigation, says police lawyer Anders Svarholt in the Eastern police district in a press release.
The relatives have been notified.
The man was found on September 23. When the police arrived at the apartment, it was clear that the man had been dead for a while.
The preliminary forensic examination shows that the deceased have injuries that are compatible with murder, according to the police.
– As the police see it today, there is no reason for others to feel insecure after this incident, Svarholt says.
The police are now conducting forensic investigations in the deceased’s apartment. The police state that this work will also take place over the weekend.
– The final forensic report will conclude with a more accurate time for the murder. The police are waiting for the final report from the Department of Forensic Medicine during the next week, Svarholt states.
