Football Manager Returns to Xbox After Thirteen Years, No PlayStation Version | NOW

SEGA has Thursday night announced Which Football Manager 2021 will be released for Xbox consoles at the end of this year. It is the first time since 2007 Football Manager can be played on a game console again.

The developers write that the Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition has been redesigned to be fully playable with an Xbox controller. The game appears on the current Xbox One, as well as on the new Xbox Series X and Series S.

In Football Manager the player is put in charge of a football club. The aim in the simulator is to train players, to short-circuit transfers, to determine the tactics and thus to achieve success.

It is not known when the Xbox edition will be released. It is clear that Football Manager 2021 will be released on November 24 for PC and Mac.

On Twitter, fans asked why there is no PlayStation version. According to Football Managerdirector Miles Jacobson, this is because Sony could not make hardware available. “To make games for a platform, you need suitable hardware to be able to develop”, writes he. “We spoke to Sony and they had no equipment. We spoke to Microsoft and we got it.”

Jacobson says that Football Manager 21 also does not appear on the PlayStation 5. “We can’t wave a magic wand to get them to send us equipment and make it work right away. It would be years of work, just like we worked on the Xbox version for years.”
