I declare that in my answer to one of the questions there was an incorrectly indicated entity responsible for the pollution of the Vistula River. In this statement, the name of PKN Orlen was incorrectly quoted, “President of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski wrote on Facebook on Thursday and apologized to the company for his statement for” Rzeczpospolita “.
The case concerns, inter alia, a thread published in early September by “Rzeczpospolita” of a conversation with the President of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, in which he said, inter alia, that “a month ago there was a leak of harmful substances from Orlen near Płock and no one made a big problem out of it, no one he decided to hold the prime minister or even the minister responsible ”.
In connection with these words, the president of PKN Orlen, Daniel Obajtek, undertook such actions as sending a pre-trial letter calling for an apology and transfer of 15 thousand. PLN for social purposes. At the same time, the spokeswoman of the capital city hall, Karolina Gałecka, informed that in an interview with President Trzaskowski, “PKN Orlen was mistakenly indicated as responsible for the fuel leak into the Vistula, for which we apologize.”
On Thursday evening, the capital’s president published the correction in person.
Content of the correction
At the beginning of September, in an interview for Rzeczpospolita, when explaining the situation regarding the failure of the transmission system to the Czajka sewage treatment plant, I referred to a situation in which the Vistula was contaminated as a result of an oil spill. I wanted to show that in a similar situation no one attacked Prime Minister Morawiecki or demanded his resignation. When recalling this situation, I incorrectly ascribed it to Orlen instead of PERN. From the point of view of the logic of the argument, it did not matter, because I had no intention of harming either company or the other. Both are state-owned companies, so it’s a bit like in my case someone mistook MPWiK for MPO. We corrected this obvious mistake right away. – wrote Trzaskowski on Facebook, adding that, unfortunately, Orlen assessed this action as inadequate and demanded additional apologies and corrections.
