Taxi driver Minsk takes fleeing demonstrator and becomes internet hit | Abroad

A journalist filmed a young man on the run from the riot police. With an army of policemen with batons in his wake, he runs up a road and dives into a taxi. The driver does not hesitate for a moment and races away, while police officers pull the vehicle in vain.

In Belarus, demonstrations have been taking place for a month and a half against the regime of President Alexander Lukashenko, who has been in power for a quarter of a century. Many citizens believe that electoral fraud was committed in last month’s presidential election. Authorities say they have arrested 364 people in the latest protests.
