Dinamo Kiev has taken a big step in Belgium towards the group stage of the Champions League. AA Gent was defeated in the Ghelamco Arena: 1-2.
Kiev managed to deal with AZ in the previous round, which gave it up completely in Ukraine and crossed the beet bridge with 2-0. The team of trainer Mircea Lucescu took a big step towards the billion dollar ball in Ghent. In contrast to the previous preliminary rounds, the play-offs are over two games.
Kiev quickly got on the right track in Belgium. Vladyslav Supriaga tapped his team from close range to 0-1. The goal was offside, but the arbitration approved it. After half an hour, Ghent increasingly asserted itself and ended up on the same level shortly before half-time. A corner from Niklas Dorsch was cleverly headed in by Tim Kleindienst: 1-1.
Less than ten minutes after half-time, Ghent had to continue with ten after Roman Bezus received his second yellow card from the referee. It was therefore no longer possible to take a lot of risks for the Belgians, who fell behind in the final phase. Carlos De Pena took care of the 1-2 final result ten minutes before time. The return is in a week.
