GALAMEDIA – At the moment rainy season, The Ministry of Health asked the public to be aware disease malaria and dengue fever (DBD) carried by mosquitoes and leptospirosis transmitted by mice.
“These are all vector-borne. The first is a mosquito vector, the second is leptospirosis from mice. The third is likely to occur frequently,” said Head of the Data and Information Center for the Directorate of Vector Infectious Diseases and Zoonotics of the Ministry of Health Didik Budijanto by telephone to ANTARA, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
To anticipate this, the Ministry of Health seeks to go directly into the field with the local Health Office and Puskesmas to remind the public of the need to implement 3M Plus, which is to drain, close and recycle places or objects that can potentially become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
“The plus is that it can be given an abatation or give silver head fish,” he said.
The Ministry of Health also reminded the need to carry out the movement of one house and one larva observer (jumantik) to break the life chain of these mosquitoes.
“That’s for that DBD and also malaria. Why? So as not to aggravate pandemic conditions if there are COVID-19 cases in (the area) there, “he said.
To anticipate post-flood leptospirosis cases, the Ministry of Health continues to carry out case examinations, trying to find cases early either through the laboratory or through epidemiological findings or investigations.
