KOMPAS.com – Defendant of ITE Act in case of IDI “WHO Kacung”, Jerinx, asked the jury about his guilt.
This happened when the public prosecutor read out Jerinx’s indictment again during the follow-up hearing at the Denpasar District Court, Tuesday (22/9/2020).
The reading of the indictment was repeated because at the preliminary hearing, Jerinx and his legal authority “walked out”.

After the indictment was read out, Jerinx questioned the decision of the JPU to recite the indictment in its entirety.
Jerinx also mentioned his statement regarding the WHO’s lack of Indonesian Doctors’ Association (IDI).
“Sorry, Your Honor, why was my statement about the IDI not read out in full, but instead took a one-sided conclusion,” said Jerinx in a virtual hearing on the Denpasar District Court YouTube channel, quoted from Tribune Bali, Tuesday (22/9/2020).
“Actually, what’s my fault? Do I have the potential to dissolve IDI?” he said.
Hearing Jerinx’s words, the Chief Judge Ida Ayu Adiana explained that until now Jerinx was still a defendant and had not been found guilty.
“Brother of the defendant, you have not been found guilty at this time, that’s why it will be tried later. That will be in evidence and defense,” said Ida.
Jerinx will also file an exception regarding the charges read out by the prosecutor.
“Sorry, your Honor, and my attorney will file an exception,” said Jerinx.
During the trial, Jerinx also said that he was willing to delete his social media accounts if needed to get a suspension of detention.
Meanwhile, Jerinx was charged with violating the ITE Law because of his actions which he considered deliberately uploading sentences through his personal Instagram account, @jrx_sid.
In his upload, Jerinx wrote, “because of being proud to be lacking the WHO, IDI and the hospital arbitrarily obliging everyone who will give birth to a Covid-19 test”.
