Ajax has reached an agreement with FC Barcelona about the transfer of Sergiño Dest. Various Spanish media, including TV3 and Diario Sport, report that the Catalans are still ahead of Bayern Munich.
The nineteen-year-old right back seemed fast on his way to the Budesliga champion, but different sounds are heard from Spain on Tuesday evening. Barça and Ajax would agree on a transfer fee of twenty million euros, plus five million in bonuses. Dest now also prefers a switch to Camp Nou.
Dest must become the successor of Nelson Semedo at Barça, who will start working for about forty million euros in the Premier League at Wolverhampton Wanderers. In addition, Moussa Wague is leaving for the Greek PAOK. Dest has a competitive battle with Sergi Roberto.
Barcelona was also in the race for Norwich City’s Max Aarons, but Dest enjoyed the preference of trainer Ronald Koeman. The American international still has a contract with Ajax until mid-2022 and makes no secret of the fact that he is open to a transfer to a European top club.
