Singer Eefje de Visser has won De Gouden Nutekraker on Tuesday. According to the organization De Visser is a fixture within the Dutch music industry.
With her album released earlier this year Bitterzoet according to the organization she also provided “a completely new live show”. “According to colleagues, she is the act that you should see live this year.”
Besides De Visser (34), The Hague band DI-RECT, Akwasi, Chef ‘Special, Danny Vera, De Wolff, Henny Vrienten, Michelle David & the Gospel Sessions and Typhoon were also nominated.
The Zilveren Nutcracker, the incentive prize for new talent, went to the group Darlyn. The Humble Hero Award was won by violinist Marieke de Bruijn. The 53-year-old violinist received the prize for her work as a musician on various albums and during live concerts by Danny Vera and DI-RECT, among others.
Show without an audience
The awards were presented during a show without an audience in Paradiso. The presentation was in the hands of NPO Radio 2 presenter Jan-Willlem Roodbeen. On October 30, the show will be broadcast on NPO 2 Extra by NTR.
The Gouden- and Zilveren Nutekraker are awarded annually by copyright organization Sena and the Dutch Toonkunstenaarsbond (NTB) to musicians who delivered exceptional performances during the past season.
The Gouden Nutcracker was previously won by Douwe Bob, BLØF, Ilse DeLange and Golden Earring. Last year the band My Baby won the prize.
