Sweden has stood out from most countries and even from other Nordic countries, in the same pandemic situation, by not adopting any recommendation for the mandatory use of masks.
Those responsible for that country have privileged individual responsibility, rather than imposing restrictions, according to EFE.
This strategy caused controversy, especially in times of higher incidence of the pandemic, when the number of infections and deaths was even higher than other countries in that region, which chose to apply measures.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 89,436 people have been infected with the new coronavirus and 5,870 fatalities in Sweden.
The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed at least 965,760 deaths and more than 31.3 million cases of infection in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
In Europe, the highest number of fatalities is registered in the United Kingdom (41,825 dead, more than 403 thousand cases), followed by Italy (35,738 dead, more than 300 thousand cases), France (31,338 dead, more than 458 thousand cases) and Spain (30,904 dead, more than 682 thousand cases).
