The continental hockey league (KHL) club “Dinamo” in Riga has been supplemented by 25-year-old Finnish defender Tony Sunds, the “Dinamo” unit informs on its website.
The defender who joined the team spent the previous season in the Finnish top league team Turku TPS.
In the 2019/2020 season, the defender played 50 games in the ranks of TPS in the main tournament, in which he scored four goals and scored 11 times.
Sunds was born on August 4, 1995 in Pedersere, Finland. The defender has spent his previous career in Finland, playing both in the top league and in the second “Mestis” league.
The NHL’s rights to the defense belong to the San Jose Sharks unit.
It has already been reported that after the discovery of Covid-19, both Riga’s “Dinamo” and Nizhny Novgorod’s “Torpedo” team postponed the game scheduled for Tuesday in Riga indefinitely.
Previously, due to the illness of Covid-19, the games of Riga “Dinamo” with Nizhny Novgorod “Neftehimik” in Riga and Nursultana “Baris” were postponed in the opposing teams.
The next games “Dinamo” are planned on their field on September 26 with Moscow “Dinamo”, on September 29 with Moscow CSKA and on October 1 with Minsk “Dinamo”.
With three points in five games, “Dinamo” takes the tenth place among 11 teams in the Western group this season.
Last season, “Dinamo” took the penultimate place in the Western Conference and in the entire league, not qualifying for the Gagarin Cup for the sixth year in a row.
