In the middle of juries of the brotherhood of the Tripière d’Or, Louis Lecuirot is in its place. And for good reason, he was inducted Grand Gousier jurat on Saturday September 12, 2020 at Caen (Calvados). At only 18 years old.
This Caennais thus becomes the youngest Grand Gousier jurat in France in the gastronomy of solid foods category. A pride for the one who fell into the guts very young.
When I was 10, I ate my first tripe and very quickly I wanted to continue. What I like ? The taste of real Caen fashionable tripe and the conviviality around the dish.

A passion that he shares with his dad, a member of the Tripière d’Or.
At 16, Louis entered the jurats school. “We learn all the pieces of the tripe, we especially learn to taste it: the sauce, the carrots, the bouquet. After two years of presence as a jurat (or judge) during the tastings, he was able to be inducted into Grand Gousier.
For me it’s a source of pride! I’ve been waiting for my diploma for eight years since I had to be of age. This is the culmination of all the work done upstream.
In this September start, Louis remains focused on his studies. In addition to sommellerie mention, at the Lycée Rabelais de Ifs, the tripe will remain a passion, “a bit like sport on weekends”. Sport he practices with his friends: cycling, handball, rally, motocross.
It’s true that when I talk about guts, people always laugh at first and then when they realize that I know what I’m talking about, they take me more seriously.
Louis is now waiting for the next Tripière d’Or competition. It was due to take place on October 3, but it was canceled for reasons related to the health crisis.
