The Infrastructure Minister and the mayor of Arteixo have signed an agreement to double the volume of water in the town and guarantee supply to the Morás industrial estate, for the next 30 years at least. The agreement completes Emalcsa’s Master Plan for the metropolitan area and the water will come from the Cecebre reservoir. The Morás industrial estate, one of the largest in Galicia, will be one of the beneficiaries.
Estrella Galicia will be installed in Morás
The Hijos de Rivera company has demanded that the supply come from Cecebre in order to establish itself there. The new collector will measure more than 5 kilometers, from the Vío Alto deposit to Morás. The budget is 4 million euros, which will be provided by the Council of Arteixo with the technical assistance of the Department of Infrastructures.
The execution period is a maximum of 18 months and the Xunta hopes to put out to tender the work this year. The objective of the agreement is to carry out the improvement of the municipal supply from the existing network, in the vicinity of the Vío industrial estate. There, a pumping from the Vío Bajo area to Vío Alto and the construction of regulation tanks is planned.
