The 30-year-old led the Houston Rockets with 60 points and eight assists to a 158: 111 win over the Atlanta Hawks – Harden sat on the bench for the entire last quarter. He was only one point short of his career record.
It was the fourth time Harden had scored 60 points or more in a game, drawing level with legendary Michael Jordan. Only Kobe Bryant (6) and Wilt Chamberlain (32) managed this more often. “These are the guys I want to be part of,” said Harden: “When I finish my career, I will hopefully be named in the same breath.” This season, Harden averaged 38.9 points per game, leading the NBA Ranking on.
