Although she is already on familiar ground, Florida Jacquot is putting the finishing touches to her installation in her Vésulien office. On January 30, at the Besançon Faculty of Medicine, she defended her thesis which enabled her to obtain her medical degree with very honorable mention and the congratulations of the jury. This concerned “the feelings of teachers in adapted physical activity concerning their exercise within the sport-health network in Franche-Comté”. In fact, since 2016, the law has allowed doctors to prescribe physical activity to patients with long-term illnesses. It emerges from his thesis that “sport-health” is a dynamic network which is developing, even if there are still obstacles to be removed.

Attracted by rural medicine
The young woman, aged 31, was born in Vesoul. She attended secondary school there before leaving, at 17, for Besançon. “At first, I liked chemistry and plants. I was leaning towards the pharmacy. Then I tried the medical competition and I’ve never regretted it, ”she says. His nine years of studies, and the multiple internships carried out at the hospital (Lure, Besançon, Dole) but also within the offices of country doctors (Saulx, Champlitte, Noidans-le-Ferroux, etc.), were the opportunity to confirm his appetite for this profession.
“I wanted to do rural medicine,” she says. Bread blessed for a department like Haute-Saône where many general practitioners are close to retirement and sometimes despair of finding a successor. The Dr Florida Jacquot, she did her last internships in the cabinet of Dr Bacus in Vesoul. It was therefore quite natural that she joined forces with Dr Maryse Maire when Dr Bacus retired at the end of December 2019. “It’s a responsibility and a great honor,” thanks the young woman.
