It is close if the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got a slightly different name from Archie. This is evident from a passage in ‘Finding Freedom’, the biography about the couple.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s book, which was created with the help of people from Harry and Meghan’s entourage, states that the couple had long known they were going to have a son. They also initially had the traditional name Archibald in mind for their first scion.
Only a week before their baby was born, they took the plunge and opted for a short, playful variation on the first name with Archie. In an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph, they explained after birth that the name comes from the Greek word ‘Arche’, which means ‘source of action’.
Fact: At home in Los Angeles, Harry and Meghan don’t always pronounce their son’s full name. He has several pet names, including Arch, bubba in our little man.
