China Admits That There Are Tears Killed By Indian Troops

China only says at least one soldier was killed.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING – Report Global Times confirmed that at least one Chinese soldier died in clashes with Indian troops three months ago on the border between the two countries. This report is the first time China has acknowledged a victim in the incident.

The violent clashes in the Galwan Valley on June 15 were the worst clashes between China and India in decades. The incident killed at least 20 Indian soldiers, while China said there were no casualties on its part at the time.

However, the chief editor of the tabloid supports the Chinese government Global Times, Hu Xijin, wrote clarification about the victim’s report from the incident. “Some of our soldiers are fighting to the last breath … let’s pay homage to the soul,” he said via the Weibo website on Thursday (17/9).

Newspaper published by the Communist Party mouthpiece People’s Daily// also includes a report on the death of Chinese soldiers citing Hu’s statement. Although reports have emerged, Hu did not say how many Chinese soldiers had died.

“The death toll in China is much smaller than in India … but of course, even just one death is a huge loss,” Hu said.

Quoted from South China Morning Post, China’s Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have previously confirmed that there were casualties on the Chinese side. However, these ministries refuse to disclose the number of victims who died.

Hu said the People’s Liberation Army had suffered damage and losses early in the clashes due to being outnumbered in the surprise attack. However, he claimed that not a single Chinese soldier had been caught. Instead, when reinforcements arrived, they fought and captured the Indian troops.

India meanwhile confirmed 20 of its soldiers were killed when clashes broke out in Ladakh in June. India said the bigger losses were also on the Chinese side.
